PAK vs NED: Babar Azam breaks world record. The captain of Pakistan's cricket squad across all formats, has set a new record. Tuesday's opening ODI between the Netherlands and South Africa saw Babar Azam surpass the legendary Hashim Amla of South Africa in terms of most runs scored in an ODI after 88 innings.
Even though he was only able to score 74 runs on Tuesday, they were still enough to break all previous records.
He beat Amla's record and scored 4,500 runs in ODIs during the innings. With 88 innings played, Babar has scored 4,516 runs at an average of 59.42. Amla, on the other hand, had played the exact amount of innings and had scored 4,473 runs.
