Faisalabad torture case: Court grants physical remand of Sheikh Danish

FAISALABAD: A local court on Thursday released Sheikh Danish, the main suspect in the kidnapping and torture of a female medical student in Faisalabad, to police on physical remand till August 23, according to ARY News.

The primary suspect in the student abuse case, Sheikh Danish, appeared before the local magistrate, where the police requested a five-day physical detention for Danish.

The judge postponed further proceedings in the case while approving the five-day physical detention of the main suspect, Danish.

The main suspect, who was brought before a sessions court today, was beaten by irate attorneys today.

While another guy struck the defendant with a shoe, the enraged attorneys beat Danish for tormenting the female student. The elite force officers intervened in the meanwhile and transported the main suspect to a neighbouring court.

A report from the Inspector General was requested by Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi a day earlier after he became aware of the harassment and abuse of medical students in Faisalabad (IG).

The police chief was given instructions by Punjab CM Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi to take stern action against those responsible for the medical student from Faisalabad's harassment and abuse.
