HAMZA SHAHBAZ TO CHALLENGE PUNJAB ASSEMBLY SPEAKER’S ELECTION

Hamza Shahbaz, a former chief minister and the head of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has declared his intention to challenge the Punjab Assembly Speaker's election, ARY News reported on Friday.
Details indicate that the former chief minister stated his intention to contest the election of the Punjab Assembly Speaker on the grounds that it was unfair. He voiced his disapproval of the serial numbers that were printed on the ballots.
It is important to note that Sibtan Khan, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate, was chosen as the Punjab Assembly's new speaker.
Saif ul Malook Khokhar, a candidate for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), received 175 votes, while Sibtain Khan received 185 votes to win the election. Later, he was sworn in as speaker.
Out of the 364 votes cast at the session, which was presided over by Panel of Chairman Wasim Badozai, four were rejected. Three votes from the opposition and one from the PTI were among the rejected ones.
Following Pervaiz Elahi's election as Punjab's chief minister on July 26, the position of speaker of the Punjab Assembly became vacant.
