Lahore: Veteran journalist Ayaz Amir claims that six unidentified people tortured him.
In this regard, he claimed that he had just gotten into his car after finishing some private TV programmes when unidentified people encircled it. Ayaz Amir added that the suspects had picked me out as I was leaving the workplace, stopping the car first before torturing me and the driver.
The accused, according to the veteran journalist and commentator, also stole his wallet and cell phone. Journalists, on the other side, are criticising the incident.
Chief Minister of Punjab Hamza Shahbaz Sharif sought a report from the Inspector General of Punjab and denounced the assault on senior columnist and journalist Ayaz Amir.
Ayaz Amir's torturers would soon be apprehended, according to Hamza Shahbaz, and all legal requirements would be satisfied.The violence against a senior journalist was denounced by Imran Khan, a former prime minister and chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), who also said that fake FIRs, violence against citizens, opposition politicians, and violence against journalists are the worst manifestations of fascism in Pakistan.
